Which color do you like?

We have pretty a lot of R1 and upcoming R2 M17x users as well as M15x users here so I think it would be nice if we have a poll to find out which color is most favoured

EDIT: And let's assume that RED does not cost $99.

 

One of these existed already. It's been a couple months since I've seen it.

 

Yup I know. But it's long ago and at that time we did not have that many All Powerful owners as we do now so I think it's more interesting this time

And that poll was created when M15x does not exist as I remember

 

I don't have one but if I did get one, it'd be in black.

 

All three look bad. Great notebook though (I voted black).

 

The Red is too "gamey" for me who isnt a hard core gamer (just moderate).

Silver is um, have no idea how that really looks like.

Black, is my choice; its professional looking...

Umm... Can I request PINK? LOL! VAIO anyone?

 

I think red would be good depending on the color the lights you have.

 

I currently have a black R1, but if I were to order the R2 I think this time I would order it in silver, having the black for a while and seeing more and more pics of the silver make me want it more now.

 

I vote for black, it's a little more subtle. Although i'm tempted to get the Silver, I just can't make that kind of commitment. I suppose I can always strip the black down to silver should I decide...

 

If they had white I'd get that, otherwise black.

 

I'd get it in black. I must say though, the red on the M17X looks awesome.

Black looks the most classy. Red and silver have their short-term appeal (I'd prefer a metallic dark blue variant, though), but the black variant just looks better for long-term use.

 

I have the Black M17x and it has drawn a crowd at the 2 photography seminars
I have recently attended. Soon to be upgraded to the QX9300 and 8GB of ram.

 

I had the black one. Looks good in pictures, but is TOO black for me in person. Just ordered the silver R2. Silver gives it good contrast. We'll see in person hopefully soon

 

If you guys like to try different colors you can always buy the lids from Dell or eBay. Not to difficult to replace.

 

Pretty expensive though.

 

I would call Dell to verify the price first.

 

i guess i go Red i try black and red already, like silver but my m15x is silver and is not what i was specting

 

i'd buy it in silver again even if i purchase m17x at first time
my second alienware refresh will be silver too

 

I've enjoyed having my m17x(cosmic blaq) but the red looks amazing. I would probably go with nebula red if i ordered again.

 

I really like the silver. More flashy than black, showing off curves and markings better.

Black is great if you're looking to keep it subdued.

Red looks awesome in pictures. If I had the choice, I would probably have chosen red. Though I am very happy with my silver.

If only they had a blue that was as deep as the red. I'd be all over it!

I called Dell and they quoted $214 so it's cheaper through ebay.

I don't know. I'm having problem with all these color if I get a R2:

Black: It's hard to distinguished the metal part and the plastic part on the lid. I want it to be clearly bi-color, not single color.

Then it comes down to either silver or red.

Silver: I don't know how the silver is in real life but I already had a MacBook Pro and I don't want another silver laptop.

Red: My current system is red and I really really like it (it's the only color I see in real life tho lol) but I don't want another red M17x, if any.

So it comes down to black. But... I don't like the single color... Arghhh...

Question for black M15x/M17x owners: In real life does the lid look more bi-colored or all you see is a dark black lid and it's hard to tell the plastic part is there?

 

this may sounds crazy but i bring my m15x to "the chrome man" is my friend shop, since i don't like the silver on the m15x i want to chrome it he say can't be done because is magnesium i ask him if aluminum can be done and he say yes so the only laptop can be chrome is the m17x because is made of aluminum now i don't think i would do that to my red m17x because i love that color

 

but it's anodized, not all aluminum.

 

well you're right in some things. for me black looks like plastic but when i touch it - it's cold! so my sences don't much with each other. but when i see silver.. it looks like metal and on touch it's cold! so thats why i think at least one time in your life you must touch silver m17x

 

Can't believe the color that costs $99 more is losing

 

anodized is the finish but under that is all aluminum

LOL - maybe that's why it's losing! I think most folks like something they are sure they can live with and not be hassled with admirers when in public with it...

 

I love my silver so far

My decision making process:
-everyone already has black and it shows scratches much easier
-red is more expensive and too flashy
-silver hides scratches VERY well

Something else to think about....everyone is saying the black is more business like....are you forgetting the huge amount of led's all over the thing?! NOT business like at all lol - no matter what color

 

That would contradict everything I've heard so far.

 

Pretty sure the M17x has aluminum pieces that have an anodized coating

The M15x is magnesium pieces with an anodized coating

How about a poll that reads if you can get any color except for black, silver and red what would it be? That would be more interesting.

It's a very nice idea and may result in a weird color offered by Alienware summer 2010 But I can't change the poll anymore We need another poll

Yeah! If it's under black I can understand. But even under silver is wow

 

Actually one of the few things i have actually manged on what ever system they send me as a replacement its now down as Nebullar RED
