Which version number of CCleaner is recommended (for Win 7)? Experienced bugs with a couple of versions earlier but can not remember which. It's very long time since I have used this software now. So a good advice is fine ;).

You've experienced bugs ?? I've never seen a bug from CCleaner, ever, odd.
Maybe you should call the MIB.

Other than having a butt-ugly Windows 8/10 cartoon-looking GUI, I don't have any issues with the latest version. I have the Pro version with all of the extra software and keep it updated. It works the same as the older versions except for the silly monitoring crap they added for "safety" and I just disable those worthless "features" and everything works fine.

    Mr. Fox,

If you don't mind me asking, what benefits do you get from using the pro version and what do you use it in conjunction with. I'm familiar with what services come with the pro version but I'm curious what you personally use it for as well as what other malware/ antivirus programs you use along side it. I currently use Ccleaner, Avast and an occasional dose of Malwarebytes but figure there may be something to learn from what you use and how you use it. Thanks

None, really. I received the Pro version as a gift. It has Speccy, Recuva, Defraggler and some other stuff. It probably has a lot of features I don't use. I don't use much malware protection. I've been running some of my machines for over a year with no antivirus protection and I have Windows Updates disabled on every machine I own. I primary use CCleaner to clean up and delete crud, disable startup items, plugins, etc. I do not allow the monitoring or other stay-resident features to run.

When using CCleaner, for some extra cleaning options, go to www.winapp2.com and get the updated .INI and put it into your ccleaner folder.. It's worth the extra 2 mins to give you thousands of extra cleaning options.
