I don't know if it's possible, so i really need to know before i try it.

as long as you install everything correctly it will work. theres a xp version of command center so it will work if you install all the drivers correctly
-
Is that possible? -
well the m17x doesnt come with xp as a option for an os when you customize it. so im guessing they didnt develop a xp version of command center for the m17x. well if anyone who has the m17x can go into the myhive and check it will be way more accurate than my guess.

The reason why i asked, is cuz i tried it on xp & it didn't work.
So then i tried it on my vista, and it didn't work anymore, so maybe theirs something wrong with my mobo? -
There's a command center available for XP so I'm pretty sure it will work with the m17x. One thing I've noticed though is that if you use a defragmentation program like JKDefrag on Windows XP (which is said to be a lot more thorough than the Windows Defragmentation program), it kind of messes up the keyboard. The lighting stops working and the touch keys kind of go berserk (and by berserk, I mean it automatically turns random functions on and off constantly and the command center opens itself constantly multiple times) and it does not stop until you reinstall the Command Center.
Just an idea for solving your problems for getting your keyboard lights to work again. -
my lights work fine on xp mate

mine worked fine until they suddenly failed. the command center for XP is bad in my opinion, i've been getting weird errors. like it switches to all blue sometimes.
could just be my machine, but thats what happens. -
is it the m17x with lightpipe and skullcap design?
-
I have the m15x

Who has their keyboard lights working on XP?
