Because I first placed an order on August 1st for a 9750. Have had 2 machines returned, and now the 3rd I ordered has been delayed 2 times. Once for billing cause my ship address was different than CC address - though I bought 2 other 9750s before with the same info and no issues. Now my machine was supposed to ship on the 4th and its been stuck in phase 7 since then and still is. This is the testing phase. Ive been on the phone and spoke via email and they just say theres been a delay in production in the testing phase.
Ive REALLY tried to be patient since my first order in August.
I am not able to get any perks out of all my troubles cause I am purposefully trying to keep this order separate from the other 2 - for fear that they will use parts of my return to build the new - cause thats what it seemed like they did for the 2nd machine.
Yes, Im paying less now for the system, but thats cause the system is older now. I would have wanted to wait for the new system - but I really dont like it. Nor can I find out how BIG it is. I wanted dimensions and though there was all those pictures and press things, no one seemed to just think to take some measurements.
And I have no confidence that this 3rd machine will not do what the first 2 did. Its been over 4 months of me trying to buy a system that works. I have software bought for it all and Norton antivirus subscription thats 4 months in now and not being used.
I will definately think twice before buying from this company again. I really like this system inside and out and thats why Im still trying......but its really getting rediculous at this point.
I just want the damn computer already. I was told Id get it today when I paid for it and now its gonna be next Friday at the earliest.
thank you for letting me vent.

You're certainly welcome, and I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad experiance with a company...but !@#$ happens...
Why don't you look in to sager laptops? (I have no idea what spex for laptop you got) but sager is generally cheaper than alienware for the same, if not equal specs. Plus they are made by the same company, and the 8800m GTX is out...so why not pick that up? -
Mine was also delayed about 5 days. I think they are still backed up from Thanksgiving 2 weeks ago.

ARRRRGGGHHHH.
I just got the confirmation on the refund for my second 9750. Its 400 less than it should be. They said the laptop would be refunded at the FULL price. They better freaking fix this!!!!
Thanks for the advice up there. I am giving them one more chance with my
3rd order that is SUPPOSED to ship any day now. If this computer has the same problem as the first 2. I will NEVER buy from Alienware again.
And if they dont get my refund correct on the second machine. Theres going to be a fight.
GRRRRRRRRRR -

I'm really sorry to hear that man.
It must feel really heart-wrenching to have 2 laptops fail on you. -
yeah, I think I would have given up on the first bad one. I have to commend you for your patience!
But honestly though, I just don't see another system out there in this form factor with a comparable feature set, so I guess you really have no choice. Those 12lb sagers (clevo900c?) look horrible ><
Actually, now that the 8800m cards are coming out, you can have the power of two 7950 GTX cards in one card? That might be something worth considering if you need the power but not necessarily need SLi. -
Grey I agree with you. Theres just not another laptop I want. And I researched a ton, and I get very specific with what I want.
I got the 7950 SLI. Im not a big gamer so its not that big of a deal either way. Both will be fine for the applications I want to run.
Man I just HOPE it doesnt have the problem. And I have to wait till Monday probably for a response about that refund issue. I have NO idea why the guy didnt give me the whole refund. I have him in an email saying that the FULL amount will be refunded. -
But having the e-mail gives you a papertrail, which is good! -
Because if you had bought a dell or a HP you would have had the same problems and still ***** about it. However the bigger problem is that you paid a bit more for a machine and expected it to be fine..
To bad that computers have such a high rate of fail....well actually any electronic item that you buy will have high level of fail rate compared to anything you buy anyways.
I hope they work something out with you and hope they'll give a nice refund or something in the form of a credit. -
@Rei86 - the problem isn't that the computers have a high rate of failures in his case. The problem was that when they gave him the 2nd notebook, it was supposed to be new, but it seems like they just put the old parts into a new notebook to pass it off as a new one, which is why he is trying to make the 3rd order separate, so he doesn't have to deal with them doing that again.
Why I am starting to hate Alienware.
