    Why does alienware build time increase?

    Okay, I sometimes check the the shipping date on the ordering site ( The Dell Online Store: Build Your System)
    and how long it takes to build..

    Before, it was 7 days, yesterday I checked it was 9 days.. now today, it's 11 days?
    You can see for youreself , click the red text under the laptop picture (Preliminary Ship Date: 8/26/2010)

    There are no delays fom the order I do.

    P.S. I only check!
    P.S.S. I'm going to order tomorrow, finally... -_-

    Supply and Demand. It took me almost 2 Months to get my laptop. But it when the M17x R2 frist came out. There was a flood of people trying to get replacements for the M17x R1 due to sound issues. If they run out of a Item it take time for them get it.

    I'm thinking there's also a rush on demand right now due to back to school.

    I ordered mine on the 6th ... while the website showed it would be built on the 9th, the rep on the phone gave me the 25th as the day I would receive it.

    yeah there is defintly something going on. i ordered mine on the 6th as well and the estimated delivery date is the 20th for me
