SO i decided to download the NTune utility and found my GPU Core running at 500Mhz. So i went through the old thread about downclocking and such and found that others are running at 540Mhz. Also i have no idea what tool they were using to log core speeds and temps. I'm running X32 RC1.

EDIT: I have installed rivatuner and now see that im running 500Mhz (ROP DOmain) and 1250Mhz (Shader domain)

There are several posts showing people running at 540 and 1350.

    In this thread. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=238989

500MHz is the stock core frequency of the 8800M GTX. The people running at 540MHz probably overclocked it. Use nTune to overclock the card, and nVidia Monitor (installed with nTune) or Rivatuner to monitor clock speeds and temperature.

I'd run 3DMark06 and see what score you get. If you get the a score in line with other people's m15xs, then I wouldn't worry about anything. Sounds like a read error.

It's probably a read error like Chaz suggested.

    It's only 40 MHz anyway.....

40MHz -is- an 8% overclock over 500, heh.

It doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with your GPU. Probably software, eh?
