Thank you Salvatore80. I had the exact same symptoms as you. I didn't know what was happening. Somehow by looking at Task Manager I knew this was caused by a Dell process, but there are many and couldn't find the culprit.

Now upon Alienware-L_Porra's advice I completely uninstalled Dell SupportAssist and Dell SupportAssist Agent. I must say this made me loose quite a bit of time and I am not happy for this bloatware being pushed on us. We should be informed and have the option to not install this software.

Thank you. +rep :) It's just mess constantly from Dellienware now. Support Agent substitute for AlienAutopsy is useless, drivers that are not there or wrong drivers when you use the service tag or just use driver download pages, Hotfix to Support agent on a different side than on the download page for your Alienware and now useless bios for the new Alienware laptop which only brick (bios) the laptop. Dellienware can not even write a new bios that allows raid functionality on the new Alienware. The Dellienware doing now is to extinguish the flames after the mistake of delivering a 180w power supply to new Alienware. They hold on to create a new bios with hybrid functionality to new Alienware due the use of a weak power supply in the new BGA laptop .. Can it get worse ? Yes..

I agree. I think DELL owes us an explanation about this amazing error. Right now I've uninstalled the program but I'm interested to fix the problem of fan speed.

Dell Data Vault, Dell Data Vault Wizard and Dell SupportAssist Agent was causing an interrupt storm issue on my laptop (stuttering audio happening every 60 seconds.) After a long trial and error session I was able to narrow it down to the Dell Data Vault. I've now disabled all three and I will never buy another dell again because they installed this crap on my system without any notice or permission.
