Have you seen ranges of benches for the 975?
The average score for stock 3dmark06 runs is 5.8-6k (the cpu only score, not vantage) while 920XM hits 5.6-5.7 @3.5GHZ (correct me if I'm wrong). The upcoming 980X @3.3GHZ is about 7k.
    In WPrime32 I haven't seen 920XM hitting below 10sec while the stock 975 averages 7s and the 980X - 6s.
But again, this advantage is pointless in the mobile sector unless you are into the rendering/virtualization/etc stuff...

This post here shows them pretty much equal. Check out the multipliers and bus speed.

I think Mandrake and Johnksss need to put the 920XM and 975 against each other in a few more different CPU benchmarks for us to get a better understanding of how close they perform at the same clocks.

That's a Vantage score and it is affected by the GPU. You need the separate CPU Vantage runs to compare them. There are some results here.

I would think the GPU being enabled on the G73's run would make the 920XM's score suffer more than the non GPU Vantage run with the 975.

Well in general, you have to run a separate test for a CPU to compare them more or less. We could ask someone with G73 and 920XM to run that test and see if he hits 21.5k which is more or less average for a stock 975.

Hopefully Mandrake and Johnksss will help us out with this.

I wonder how well a QS of the 920XM would go up agaisnt a 920XM OEM.
