Will there ever be New Alienware M11X Graphic drivers for our systems?
i have Metro 2033 and i am unable to play it,
My Alienware M11X is maxed out!
8GB RAM, 500GB HDD everything maxed out even overclocked...I dont want to use dot drivers as i want dell/alienware to stop being lazy and start supporting there own product!!!
btw i have been watching this site for weeks amazing how theres so many ppl with the same netbook as me...finally i signed up so i can get involved in topics i really want better drivers seeing as developers dont wana patch there games ie* 4agames(metro 2033)

I am looking forward to the new drivers as well, but there is a trick to get Metro 2033 running. Just delete the config file for the game and it should fire up fine. Have fun!
-
ill try that right now brb
-
nope didnt work...still crashes/freezes at the THQ LOGO where the roaches appear and im forced to CTRL ALT DEL everytime...
-
Check out this site. It worked fine for me after deleting the user.cfg file on stock drivers....

remeber im using overclock on my cpu could that have anything todo with it?
-
nope iv tryed everything suggested with nothing working damn we really do need new drivers...
-
install the nvidia physics and directx that are in the game folder on top of yours I did that and I'm playing it with 186.64 , it'll still says that the drivers are outdated but it works
-
There better be new drivers. If they're going to proclaim themselves to be a gaming system they need to keep drivers UP TO DATE.
Hence, my signature comment. -
damn i want new drivers now!!!
-
mine kept freezing at that splash scene too. Had to delete the Metro settings file. Also if you want Metro 2033 to be very playable, then you can always go discrete only and install the 197.16 drivers. Helped my framerate A LOT
-
i have deleted everything and tryed everything kown to man and still cant get this running past the stupid slash screen thq part...what a waste of money £1200 on this netbook then £30 on this damn game that neither company will patch
-
You bought a 11.6 notebook just so you could play one of the newest and most demanding games? oh boy...
-
Metro 2033 does not perform that great on my Desktop with Gtx 295,have not bothered to install on the M17x as i know what the results will be.To run Metro 2033 on a M11x no way
-
-
No i have not even seen the beast in the flesh. My point was that its a demanding game & the 335M is a class2 mobile card so dont expect to much if the big desktop cards are getting big fps drops ingame.I dont doubt the M11x is a great wee performer but its got its limits like everything else

yep, agreed, newer drivers from Alienware are NEEDED, but, as mentioned before, all you need to do is update to the newest Nvidia drivers and you'll be fine. This will disable your Intel GPU, but honestly, if you are worried about running Metro 2033, then max battery life isn't your biggest concern obviously. And, it does run the game ok, not maxed or even close, but plays fine with the newer drivers.
Honestly, this game crushes my G73 with a 5870GPU when using DX11, it's a very demanding game. The fact that the Mx11 plays it at all is great, and it's actually playable, so even better ha. -
-
it is not playable on maxed settings on my M17x. I can play it perfectly on high settings with AA off. get about 35-50 FPS. on very high no AA, i get 15-20 FPS and it is extremely choppy. IMO this game has a horrible graphics engine. graphics are so demanding but aren't that much better than other games. Maybe it's because the game is meant to be run only on Nvidia cards.

well we either need a game patch or driver updates simple really
-
A contact at dell told me: We’re working on releasing a new video driver now. Should be soon.
-
great news thanks bud for letting me know. iv spend all day trying to get dell to understand the situtation we are all in with no latestdrivers
-
Not to sound callous, but what situation are we all in that is so dire? I would love some new drivers with better performance and perhaps even optimus support. However, I can currently play every single game that I want including Metro 2033 on the stock drivers and have a great experience. Waiting for new drivers sucks, but don't make it sound like the system is unusable as it stands. -
I mean, it could be better, and drivers are easy to update especially with nvidia's unified architecture so..
why run old drivers?
