Alienware M11xR2 i5, 4gig, Windows Experience Index shows 5.9 on the Seagate Momentus 250gig.

After installing the Intel X25-M Mainstream SSDSA2MH080G2R5 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) the Windows Experience Index shows 5.9.

I'm new to this laptop, I don't know what to do to make it notice the difference.

Tools to download? I'll gladly buy a tool instead of free trail if it helps.( benchmark for hdd SSD )

Also, the Intel graphics on this shows 2.6 ?!

    M11xR2 i5 with 2.6 :)
Help a noob out on what I need to twink please :)

On that topic, I went into BIOS and altered the " CPU Over-Clock [166MHZ].

But in the "View Basic Information about your computer " via Control Panel> All Control Panel Items> System

    Processor: Intel(R) Core (T<) i5 CPU U 520 @ 1.07 GHz 1.07HGZ

I have a fealing this is not updating.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

    Thank you .

Well lets start off with the basics, did you click re-run assessment down at the bottom?

Also make sure speedstep is enabled in the bios.

I had to fix this same problem last month on my dad's new computer, It happens when the first scan is set to some future date any new scans when done at the current date are seen as outdated old scans and so it does not update. the only way to fix it is to delete the first scans data. I cant remember where this data is stored I don't have vista or windows 7 on my computer to look but from what I remember its not to hard to find look in your windows folder.

Great info.. thanks for the replies!

    I did try to re-scan.

I also tried this one option I saw.. click here to re run the essessment and delete old scan files..

    didn't work.

Things aren't working out with me and Dell, the agreement I had, Dell is backing out now. So the M11xR2 is going in de box for de refund with no 15% fee.

    Done.

There is a thread on what a nightmare with dell service.. I would BLOW that out the water!
I have had THE WORST buying experience I have EVER had with purchacing this laptop. Funny thing is, about 12 years ago I went to order one and had issues then to the point I had to get a refund. Things never changed.

    Waste of time.

This fixed my problems. My SSD was reporting a 5.9 score, which was just wrong. Deleted the files and re-ran everything and got a 7.5 (not that this score is really relevant)

I assume you've posted about all your problems on the forums and sought help, right? Sending back your computer as a screw you to Dell because you simply didn't get a low-priced system for an even lower rate is pretty lame, in my own opinion. From what I've read, part of your Alienware logo was not illuminated. When your screen was replaced, you state that the screen now creaks - plastic hinges do squeak, creak, and make noises when opened. If something happens again, you clearly have a full warranty.

Additionally, you are seeing "Intel Graphics" because your driver for your video card is either not installed (judging by your resolution, that is the case), or your computer is in Stealth mode.

Try CrystalDiskMark for benching your SSD:

    http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskMark/index-e.html

Additionally, if you haven't already been to the SSD Tweaks thread, you should do this. It'll save you headaches down the road relating to "my ssd is slow now":

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware/474521-installing-ssd-tips-tricks-benchmarks.html

At the very least - and probably all you will need to do - perform the following:

Run services.msc to disable the following services:
    1. Disk Defragmenter
    2. Superfetch
    3. Windows Search

Wait.... Your returning a system because of WEI? Thats the worst most inaccurate, unreliable benchmark in the history of man, and aliens, EVER!

What do your scores in CrystalDiskMark say? Run will 0fill and a 100mb file. Stealth mode is the button on your touch bar that looks like a speedometer; if you press it it should convert out of it.

Frusterating! imageshack website not responding.. cant creat an account.. and cant upload images.

    Crystal Mark.

    ALL 5 100mb C:45%
    ..........READ MB/s...............WRITE MB/s
    Seq ... 219.54..................... 85.38
    512k ... 181.0...................... 85.66
    4k....... 14.60 ..................... 24.97
    4kQD32..111.6....................... 83.59

And, " Stealth mode is the button on your touch bar that looks like a speedometer; if you press it it should convert out of it"

No clue where that is located.. the taskbar on tne right side doesnt have a speedometer..... the keyboard
m11xr2 doesnt show that either :(

I'm so sorry I don't know another way to upload the photo.. this website photo ' attatchment ' with the paperclip icon doesn't work for me .. photo to large? no clue how to make it small to let it get sent? ( wish I knew )

AND Thank you SO much for your help sofar.. Hope to hear form you soon..

Note* after doing some twinks as sugested above.. how to install SSD.. my intel score is now 2.6 from 3.4.

    : (

Why this bothers me on the WEI is the M11xR1 showed 7.2 I think for the SAME SSD.. now this M11xR2 shows 5.9.. that bugs me while I'm in my 21 day return policy.

Good, that's a step in the right direction. Those numbers all look good to me, but could be tweaked slightly more if you really want to - however, there really isn't much reason to. I feel like your graphics scores should be higher as well - I have a 6.8 and I have an R1, so..
