I purchased the new M17x for CUDA development and after installing CUDA I found that my CUDA applications run twice as slow as the same executable running another laptop with XP. The nVidia CUDA forums suggest it is the new WDDM in Vista which causes more overhead than in XP. This new display driver model is apparently the same model expected in Windows 7. So I too am interested in installing XP on my M17x. If I were to buy current windows xp install disks would they have the necessary drivers or would I have to still slipstream the compatible drivers?
