So it looks like Alienware got rid of the built in WirelessHD options that was available in the 1st gen M18x...It's not in any of the manuals, never mentioned in any posts and not in any of the advertisements anymore. It was on the landing page when the new machines launched, but have been removed now.

That said, what options have people used to get the same experience? I found this product which seems to go through walls now and up to 160 ft. Seems more powerful and you can hook up a wireless mice and keyboard in the receiver so you can more easily control your laptop (or desktop) from your living room. Anyone have experience with this product?

It'd be nice to be able to leave your machine on your desk, startup the wirelessHD, game on the big screen with the keyboard/mice in front of the TV and not move anything!

That's interesting. About the same price as what was paid for Wireless HD, but I like it better because it's not a proprietary solution that is tied to a specific machine.

One thing to note, most of these only do ~30 FPS, so gaming will be suboptimal. The ARIES doesn't even state a max refresh rate.

Not sure what the max refresh rate is. From all I've read about WirelessHD when it first came out, I never really saw anything about FPS or refresh rate mentioned. It just displays whatever is on your laptop screen with zero/near nil latency so if you are gaming on y our laptop at 60 fps, that's what you see on your big screen tv...

Yes, but that Wireless HD and this ARIES Wireless HD are different products. Just because it has the same subtitle, doesn't mean it will perform the same.

From my experience, several Wireless HDMI and Wireless HD products will only do 30 FPS, hence, the warning.

This seems to be your cheapest bet for 60 fps wireless HD.

If I was doing it for high quality gaming and streaming, I'd probably go with something a little better like this.
