When I troubleshoot, no solutions are found and all I'm left with is a big x in front of my bars.

One thing I did notice is that when I disconnect and reconnect the wireless using the media touch pad, I don't get that sound windows makes when a device is connected or disconnected, like it should.

    Any solutions?

when you installed Win7 did you make sure that your wireless card drivers where installed correctly?

Also did you make sure wireless for the notebook is turned on? (I'm guessing yes but always a possibility) :)

I did install my drivers...whether I installed them correctly is a mystery.

try to disable eth card, or delete nvidia drivers. if it works, use original drivers from microsoft, not from nvidia <- it happend to me

Since its an upgrade id suggest finding the most up to date Win7 drivers rather than use the vista, unless you have done that.

to disable the card you would go into the control panel, then network and internet options. disable it there.
