Witness dells ineptitude live, repair taking place

Dell mexico, technician inhome, screen was replaced now with new screen the computer wont turn on...

he has dissasembled the computer 3 times, now he inserted the old screen and guess what, it wont turn on...

Edit: I took the video down till the final outcome of the situation, dont want to cause any trouble to dell right now, and I definitely dont want the guy loosing his job, not in this economy.....

Though they should probably reposition him as the company pizza guy or something...

I REALLY REALLY NEEDED MY LAPTOP, the moment I saw him trying to open it I regreted my decision to call warranty for this, I had to guide him every step of the way, I offered him pictures on my other laptop.

Its an M11X... It had the screen defect where the bezel was coming off.

He probably didn't connect the keyboard/media cover correctly. I bet if you take those out and reconnect them your system will start. Unless of course he shorted something out but normally that's not easily done, even when not properly grounded.

 

youre probably in for a replacement once the mobo repair fails

Guys first of all I want to make clear that I dont mean to intentionally damage dells image, I love this laptop but its really unfair that at least down here, they hire practically anyone to do a job that requires certification.

He was careless and he tried doing it really fast, and each time he called support he identified himself as UPS guy... I really hope they are not recycling people and using delivery guys for repair too.

that phone is awesome!!! and i know how you feel the optical drive on my first m17x was defective and they send a guy who never works on an alienware before but he was honest and told me the true that's why i decide to replace it myself

I have someone checking in for my BSOD problem wensday and i wont be there so i fear for my m17x

 

I fear for it as well. You should leave a printed manual for him sitting next to it.

 

really uncool of you to broadcast that regardless of what you think you can and cannot do you could very well be getting yourself into some trouble since its very unlikely he agreed to be filmed.

pretty bad move imo. He should have said he didn't know how to work on that system sure, but still.

I'm blown away the mods didn't mind this compared to some of the things they prohibit.

 

He is in Mexico so the laws there could be a lot different than the US regarding broadcast rules and privacy. I think editing the video to remove the guys face or blur it would be fine.

bad move on my part? I didnt start recording till I noticed he screwed up the laptop and started calling support. The a-hole move here is the company sending these unexperienced techs working on peoples computer. You never know if its critical for their work.

I dont know if you guys get news from down here but there are shootings everywhere, the situation is really bad, a couple of days ago they killed 2 students from my school and now its in semi-lockdown mode.

So dont tell me its a bad move to do this, I did it because If I had called dell and told them about the situation they wouldve sent me on a loop of excuses, now theres a video, you cant have an excuse for that.

btw I wont be replying for long now, im on my roommates laptop and he needs it back...and I dont have mine. yay.

Its at his own home so he can do whatever he wants. If they go work in a work atmosfere they can be filmed as well and i doubt if anything goes wrong that the company will not use that video so why should it be different for us. unless they make you sign anything there is nothing they can do.
