Over the past few months hundreds of threads have been created on this forum about many different problems concerning the m15x
It would be nice to be able to go to just one thread and read everyone’s comments on what problems they have had and specifically how they feel they have been treated.
Well here it is.
Every time you contact AW you receive an email asking you to fill out their questionnaire about how you feel and was your problem resolved. Now its time for us all to speak up and document how we really feel.
This is not just a one sided survey so if you have a perfectly working m15x it would be great to get your views as well.

Yes. I acquired a broken Toshiba Satellite 6000 Pro from a friend and fixed it to working condition. There were many problems with the computer and I've been about the only person able to use it. Bad experience overall, would not buy a Toshiba.

Had minor downclocking (after some investigation) of the GPU. Fixed in BIOS x32 RC1. Other minor errors fixed by application updating. (Synaptics Application)

To add: I'm surprized in two ways... first, that everyone thinks a Laptop is going to roll off the assembly line and be perfect. Too many people have too little patience to find fixes for their investments. Second, Those that do take the time to find fixes, are ruthless about it. Constantly searching. I tip my hat to these people...
Overall, I think AW has done a pretty good job. With something this complicated, it's had a surprisingly small number of problems. And yes, it might be a little hotter than some other laptops with comparable specs, but do they have AlienFX lighting? do they have the capability of turning off the power-hungry video card altogether to extend batteries?
To me, the benefits still outweigh the costs of the m15x. Someone who can't see that... well. I'd call them faithless. -

---I think the only thing I have a problem with is that the touch controls stop working when I close it and leave the laptop on. It's not a big deal... but sometimes shutting down and starting back up every time I close the case it becomes irritating. -

If not what did not work from new: Problems from new where screen wobbliness, no updated Bios, kensington lock does not fit kensignton locks. Updated Bios myself and temperatures of GPU reached 100C and CPU 92C when on full load.

I'd give it an 8... just because I did notice all of the minor problems that was discussed over and over again on the forums but they aren't as bad as some users experienced. Sigh of relief there. Other than that it's a Super Beast.

Aurora m7700 - overheats with GPU at max load in the summer, which has been a consistent problem since year 1. I've given up trying to fix it. Good that aside.

The performance was decent enough to do work on though it was not powerful enough to play games effectively. The model itself was sturdy, so I had no problems moving it about and around. I give it a 6.

24) Reason for contacting Technical Support: Well, the calls were mostly because I was wondering why they haven't built my notebook yet. I had to go through plenty back orders and it wasn't a very delightful experience. The contact I'm having with them right now is the casual updates on their progress on the keyboard lag issue.
25) Were these problems resolved over the phone: Somewhat. Once my order had gotten all of the parts that were on back-order, it went through all of the phases insanely fast. I'm pretty sure most of the complaints I've made expedited my order somehow.
26) Did the support agent remotely connect to your computer via Alien Contact and if so did this solve the problem you encountered: Nope. Never had to use Alien Contact.
27) If not, were you advised to return your m15x for repair: Never needed to.

34) Out of 10 (1 being poor and 10 being excellent) how would you rate your m15x: 8 (If the screen felt sturdy, I'd probably give it a 9.)
35) Out of 10 (1 being poor and 10 being excellent) how would you rate you overall whole experience with AW: 4. Customer service needs to step it up.
36) Out of 10 (1 being poor and 10 being excellent) how would you rate Customer Service: 1. Getting better though with Roswell constantly in touch with me and doing occasional follow-ups. Would be nice to see an entire revamp and audit of the normal customer support. If the normal tech support can get itself to Roswell standards or even remotely near it, then I think my overall experience with AW would be a whole lot better.

1) Technical Support: -7. I would prefer talking to people who can speak fluent English.
2) Roswell Crew: 10. I'll give this a perfect score. Roswell has treated me well and I haven't had any problems with them. Hell, they're doing more than they're expected by keeping in touch with me via email occasionally to see how I'm faring.
38) Would you recommend Alienware to friends or colleagues: Somewhat. I'll definitely do it if their overall customer support improved, but for now, I won't recommend nor will I deter people from Alienware.
39) Would you buy from Alienware again: Hmm. I think I'll try something new next time. If Alienware comes out with a new line of laptops by the time I look for another notebook, then maybe. I'll have to see. -

To add: All of my friends have laptops. Mine is the heaviest. Feels like a textbook. Not horrible. Something to work on. So If they could find fixes for keyboard lag and touch responsiveness + bring the weight down a little and upgrade the build quality then this would be a 10/10 laptop. This is a lot to ask for and I realize nothing is perfect but I feel like it is SOOOOO close to being perfect I cant help but wish. That being said it is close to to perfect. So close I am still going to give it a 7.5/10. And say that I am happy with my purchase so far and plan on keeping it.
