    9700M-GT? good question. if you compare it to pics of the Go 7950 GTX, it looks similar, so it might work ( http://www.cowcotland.com/images/news/2006/10/b_gef_go_7950gtx_f.jpg). however, i think the performance gain of the 9700m-gt over the 8700m-gt (or Go7950GTX) would be rather small... in my opinion, it would be smarter to wait until the HD4870 is released, and then snatch up a pair of cheap HD3870s from someone who upgraded their m17/whitebook.

    I think that the 9700M GTS is comparable to 2x 8700m gt SLI? Think that would fit as well?

    i think that the 7950GTX, in terms of performance, might be better than the 9700m-gt (although it doesn't support DX10 AFAIK). so an upgrade would be counter-productive.
