Look at this, what could cause this. And I'm using x36?

    Look at the absolute maximum..

The same thing used to happen to me, too. Don't know how I solved it. Don't know what's the problem either and I really don't care about it as well.

I do, the amount of programs I have open there is nothing, normally I have alot more, I'm a big multitasker. My keyboard latency is for typing :/

if it is for the keyboard, then check the m15x sticky thread. i am certain Oceanus posted a work-in for the keyboard latency issue. if not in there, look in his sig for a link to a site where it is for sure.
i adapted this work-in and have had a severe improvement.

    let us know.

my point is that the programs are causing the high latency... ;)

I dont understand why having the programs open would cause my keyboard to go like that. None of my other laptops do this, or indeed did this.

Have you tried reverting to the x32 bios and seeing if the same thing happens too?

I dont dare revert back to x32. I get overheating problems already with x36. My gpu hits 100 degrees.

It's HWMonitor that is affecting your DPC latency. Closing HWMonitor should address the spikes that you see.

If you'd like, here are a list of programs (or things that I could think of at the top of my head) that would affect your DPC latency:

    #1. HWMonitor
    #2. CPU-Z
    #3. Everest
    #4. Stealth Mode

)kay I'm running HW-monitor, GPU-Z, at once, and not getting all the spikes that he's getting. I'm running vista 32 bit by the way. it only happens when running CPU -Z.

Hmm, yeah. But your spikes are not consistent like it is in Napbree's screenshot (and you're also using Windows Vista x32, while he's using Windows 7.)

I managed to replicate his issue to a certain extent ( his latency is a tad higher), though what I found out wasn't actually what I had expected at all. Under Windows 7, I ran Skype and MSN, which came out clean-- and HWMonitor apparently does not produce much additional latency on Windows 7 than it does on Windows XP.

However! When I installed Microsoft Office 2007, that's when I started getting spikes. These spikes were also consistent like how it was on Napbree's m15x, and I'm quite certain this is the culprit. It was totally what I hadn't expected, but I tried uninstalling and installing it a couple times and the outcome was the same.

The really odd thing about it is that after you installed Microsoft Office 2007 on Windows 7, you still get DPC latency spikes even after it's closed (and nothing from Office 2007 is running-- at least explicitly.) Even when you restart, it still happens as soon as Windows 7 is booted up again.

My hunch is that something from Microsoft Office 2007 is running in the background and is causing these DPC latency spikes, because after you uninstall it completely, it pretty much goes away.

Here are some screenshots to demonstrate that the culprit MIGHT be Microsoft Office 2007.

    With Microsoft Office 2007 installed:

I noticed after installing x36 that some programs (DVD burner) now lag a bit on the whole though I have no issues with x36 really other than the increased fan noise which I assume will help my machine last longer.

I'm thinking Microsoft Office 2007 isn't fully optimized for Windows 7 and that's why you get those latency issues. I just can't figure out exactly which process or services (from Microsoft Office 2007) are causing these latency spikes.

Edit: Going back to XP partition to size those screenshots down a tad.
    Edit #2: Fixed screenshots.

    Nice investigation work there ;).

Let me have a look, it could be because OneNote is constantly in the background. So I'll get back to you.

there are several settings in Office 07 that could cause this.
i remember a setting that i saw and wanted to turn off during install, but opted to not do it at the time. i can no longer locate the option to disable it.
there are things i have noticed with Office 07 that are different then 03.
mainly it seems as if every single program now is seeking constantly on the net for updates or information....it is actually getting annoying.
and to add wood to the fire, they make it difficult sometimes to find the "turn off auto xxx" buttons...grrrrrrr.
