    I need to make up my mind now, spend $100 and upgrade to 2.5ghz or spend $700 and upgrade to 2.8ghz is there a huge difference?

    Its the overclockability which most notebooks from the Alienware M15x to the gateway FX series have heat issues with the cpu. Generally no it is a waste

    You dont want to waste that money on little CPU boost which is just overclocked and architecturally exactly the same. Better spend that money and get a SSD or 8800m if you dont have already

    im going to just upgrade to a 2.5ghz and purchase a 6 cell smart bay battery... does anyone know if you can charge the smart bay using the old ac adapter?

    also is it worth it to upgrade to win ultimate vista?

    While charging, if your battery is completely charged it will then begin charging the smart bay battery.
