I have an X9100 and was going to place it in my new M17X soon as it arrives but I read that someone said it was not supported? Due to voltage? I need to know ASAP so I can buy a QX9300 and ebay by x9100.

    Thanks.

No im sure it is supported its just i havent seen anyone overclocking it, which means that it may not OC, the p8600 on the other hand can overclock to the same level as the x9100.

i'm fairly sure it's supported. as for OCing, the BIOS natively supports OCing for the Extreme CPUs, so you should be able to OC your chip from the BIOS.

the x9100 DOES work but can only be OC'd to 3.33 GHZ due to a low voltage....we are looking @ the bios to see if we can add some more voltage

It is able to be overclocked by unlocking the Multipliers in BIOS

that ^^^ info is confirmed :D

You are the one that had the BIOS for the m17 that had OC'ing, the BIOS your friend @ AW let you test.
    Any info on that ?

My sig shows stock but I've been testing at 3.06, 3.2 and 3.33. 3.33 works as long as my ram and FSB are sync'ed.

I plan on doing P8700 testing this weekend and then if I get good results I'll buy the P9700. Sooner or later I'll find the config I'm really happy with. I'm trying to do all the testing I can before I get into changing the voltage.
