Hi everyone. I recently reinstall my OS and install server 2008 x32 on my m15x.
I installed the so called OSD 00025 beta driver and it worked well after initial reboot. But after several reboot the touch lose it's functionality and stop working. And also after sleep too. Basically my touch won't work unless I reinstall the driver. I tried to revert back to the older 00020 driver but it's not working either. I'm confused could anybody help me.![]()

no? No one has a solution? It seems like the OSD has been disabled after sleep, even the reboot following the first sleep after I reinstall.
-
Does it work after a normal shutdown?
-
I dont have the system in front of me to give you the direct executable.
If you run the executable do they start working again? if so, Then you can put that in your startup folder and make sure it is loaded properly.
Since you are running server, is there something messing with the driver? Event viewer? -
wow, now look into my event viewer, I see lots of error all related to OSD.
I will paste it here.
Notice that the log is taken when I install the program, I can't identify which one is for when OSD stop working.

I suggest uninstalling it with Revo Uninstaller and run a registry clean.
-
Revo uninstaller?
What is that? -
well, I found the reason why there is the error is because I didn't have the right MCV80.dll, so I install the redistribution of microsoft visual studio 8.0 so now the error disappeared, but my problem persists. My quicktouch is still not working. any solutions?
I just found out, that all the other fn keys works and I see on-screen display like brightness, camera toggle, etc but only the volumn slider and the toggle of wireless bluetooth and the rest of the touch lost the functionality. -
Make sure you install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 as well. The OSD needs that to run properly.
-
I did. I am so lost...

amazing! I called alienware technical support and they solved my problem with the mere suggestion of upgrading my BIOS....from x32 to x36
I downgraded my bios to x32 because there is a bug inx36 that makes the fan go really loud but I'm back to the bios again....well so far so good.
I'm relieved
a problem with OSD on m15x
