    hello guis!

Ive recently baught a alienware 17 R1 (2014 ) with a dead ati r290x. so ive baught a 970m and installed it. the bios sees the card and so does windows. Windows shows error 43, but when i disable and enable it shows no error. When i open gpuz it shows some missing fields. Also nvidea control panel cant be opend.

In your case, the card is most likely dead. I've had desktop GPU's do the same thing, code 43, and missing fields in GPU-Z. Though, I would try re-flashing the vBIOS as that may also be the issue. If a vBIOS flash doesn't work, the card is dead and you will need to contact the seller ASAP.
