    anyone know if an alienware 4850 1gb gddr3 will work with this laptop?
    he says he got alienware area-51 m15x

    i answered this question in another thread to the effect that im pretty sure it wont work beacuse the bios wont recognize the card. like moo said it could work, its the right type & size. but there was no support for it specifically on the bios side. i recently got an older m15x off ebay that had a 3870 in it but i dont have a 4850 to test to be sure. i think that even if it would boot, it would be a heat issue. but the only way to know is to test it out.n i read on another fourm that calimed to have tried it, but this was some time ago and i really dont think i want to track it down, but im sure that the issue was a bios.
