I have an alienware area 51 m5550 with a dvi-d output, and my samsung lcd tv is the lnt3253h with a hdmi input. (to be honest, not sure what an output or input is, hopefully, i'm right).

I connect the cable, and my computer recognizes it and asks me how i want the screen to be shown (both monitor and tv screen, only monitor, only screen, etc...). Also, my computer screen automatically changes resolution. THe icons are like... bigger.

Then what? I tried googling around, but couldn't really find anything. I tried pressing "source" on my remote, but it just goes from normal tv to my cable.

i go to control panel, check display, go to nvidia control panel, and i see a screen where it recognizes my laptop and my samsung screen as in , it says SAMSUNG on it. Once again, the recognition is there, but the question remains on how i would go about actually seeing my computer screen on the tv screen. Here's a pic:

sorry the pic is so dang small... i don't know why it's like that. Why is there like... 2 screens. I think it may be a result of me doing something with the dvi-d to hdmi cables and monitor options. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can give.

Doesn't your TV have an AV channel or something?

huh? what's is that? Mine has like.... game modes and stuff, and when i hook it up to a dvd player, then it opens up the option for another channel that i can access by pressing the "source" button on my remote.
