do you think its a wise move for alienware?
do you think it will make customer support worse or better?

They were international on a very limited scale.

However, Dell recently announced that it will be working on it's globalization with the Alienware brand so it will be offered in many, many moreparts of the world than it was before.

I don't hold a lot of stock in any customer service. I've seen the CS of most companies decline over the years. I'll just be happy if I can actually understand the words they are speaking!

There will be more customers to serve and therefore it is obvious that the cs will decline. It was already bad from what i have read in the alienware forums.

The only thing that's obvious to me is that we just don't know and we won't know until it comes to pass. It could go either way but unless I can get my time machine fixed, we won't know until it happens.

LOL, you shouldn't feel stupid. Abbreviation can challenge anyone until you know what they are.

Actually, many posters take this for granted and over look the grammatical techniques needed for clear communication. On the other hand, this isn't an English class, so exceptions can be made in both cases

Hopefully they will be successful and it will result in more/better machines etc with possibly better prices then who cares about support to some extent but I would assume with size it will get worse support wise

To actually answer your question, I think it will be a great move. They will have access to Dells resources and make their prices more competative and affordable. "house" service calls will benefit loads of folks saving the hassle of having to send their systems in for minor issues...So CS will actually be a LOT better. I think the CS question is actually a moot point at this stage because if most of you have actually dealt with other companies you cannot actually make a direct comparison. I have dealt with MANY companies and I can say with confidence that whatever your issue may be, Alienware WILL resolve it eventually...

So I say it's a great move! Go Alienware!

This seems to be the good side when Alienware factory is merged with Dell factory.
Is there any change in warranty term?? Will the owner carry the warranty or the machine carry it?

The warranties are not transferable. Unfortunately, it's only good for the original purchaser.

Sure hope they put a branch in Asia region... Or at least, ship internationally with a reasonable price. I've looked into Alienware UK price tag and that, freaks me out.

I think that's part of the whole "globalization" plan to overcome the logistical hurdles they and the customers have now.

I hope it works out well cause more choices is a good thing.

Well, i'm from Venezuela.. And i will have my M17 monday :D :D Yeah... And the ship wasn't that expensive.. The only problem i see is that if i have some issues i have to send them the laptop and well, it's different a person who lives in USA... But well, some day will be easier... It's like too many years ago dell was created and there was only cs in USA, and today, look, Dell is everywhere... Because... They're aliens too... LOL

QFT. Since Dell is already a global presence, so the transition of Alienware into an internationally available brand won't bee too hard. And a bonus for us folk who have always drooled at its products and yet shied away from the preposterous shipping/tax prices... Exaggerating slightly here, but just my 2 cents anyhow.
