Okay, if I configure a m15x on the website, it shows options for a harddrive, an optical drive, and a smartbay drive. Can you have two harddrives and an optical drive? Or is it just one hard drive and a smartbay that holds the optical drive?

You can only have one hard drive and an optical drive.

The optical drive is in the Ultrabay drive.

The ultrabay drive is used for things like an optical drive, HDD, extra 3-cell battery, ect.

ok thanks. One more question. Does the m15x have a slot where you can put a ssd thing? I might get a 16gb one to backup or store important stuff
does a ssd go into a pcmcia or express slot? If it does does the m15x have it?

I mean, can I use the main hdd, an optical drive, and a ssd at the same time?

not a crucial mistake, but the extra smart bay battery is a 6-cell, not 3-cell.
