My parents are thinking about getting me an m9750. They will pay by the month. If we buy it in a month, will that model still be available? If not, in a month, will the $1500 model of the m15x be out? Also, will it have the rib cage design? (couldnt find it on the main site.....)

*In one month could we still get the m9750?
*$1500 model of m15x out in month?
*Will m15x have rib cage design? (or will dell make it look like cr*p and copy the little centered icon....)

Sorry, for the lack of response and the lack of answers.

To be honest there is not one person here that knows the answer to any of those questions. There is only Rumor, and 99% of them have no backing.

    1. It doesn't look good for the M9750 since they just dropped the prices. But you should be able to get a refurbished system if they drop it.

    2. I doubt the 1500 M15x will be released until the M17x is released, Rumored to be this week.

    3. No Clue.

If you need a 17", the 9750 is your best option right now. It's a great system, almost as good as the 15x performance wise when configured with the 7950gtx cards.

HP gaming notebook would be my recommendation if you are low on cash. It is a pretty damn good laptop for its price.

You know I find this really funny. I bought my 9750 at the end of Nov. to replace a Dell 1705 that just up a died on me 4 months after the warranty expired. I shopped around and researched and was able to get the most bang for the buck out of the Alienware (similar Sager was about $400 more at the time.) I knew the 15x and 17x would be coming out soon. I knew Santa Rosa would be in those and I knew the 8800's would blow away the 7950's However, I was able to get a Kick Ass laptop at a reasonable price and I am happy with it. If you are not able to wait for the 15x to drop in price, than the 9750 is a good deal. It runs everything I do very well (Crysis included). However, if you feel like you can wait then wait. Just know that they will drop the price on the 15x when something better comes along (17x) and the price on the 17x will drop eventually as well when the next biggest and best thing comes out and so forth and so on. There will always be someone with bigger and better toys than you. It is a game. You just need to ask yourself how much are you willing to play.

    true that!!!

I got my m9750 just before New Years...I love this machine. Works like a champ! I don't see any need to upgrade until AW finally offers the m8800's as an upgrade, then that should hold me over until the replacement for the m17x rolls in.

    I have two questions.

    1. Will the m9750 be here until march 10th? this is the soonest i can get a laptop....

    2. Will the $1500 m15x be out by march 10th? (or about that time...)

    3. Will the m15x come with the skullcap design as an option? I tried customizing an m15, and i couldnt find the skullcap..

    oops i mean 3 questions...

I will only get the m15x with skullcap

Honestly I don't think anyone can say, though the m15x will eventually have the skullcap design at some point.

    1. No one knows. The fact is we do not know when the m17x will be launched for ordering or what Alienware is going to do with the m9750 once it is launched.

    2. No one knows. Its been in "Coming Soon" limbo since January 10.

    3. All indications are that it will but...you guessed it, no one knows when. The black color and skullcap design are both in "Coming Soon" limbo as well.

what is your price range, if you can't spend 1800+ to get a decent configuration you should really look at something else such as the P-6831fx from gateway or maybe a Sager/Clevo laptop. Because if you only buy the base configuration of the M9750 you will regret it. As for the M15x if you want to purchase the base model that might actually be a smart decision because you would be able to upgrade it up to a 8800m gtx later on if you wanted and just spend less now.

    He probably made another thread.
In my opinion the M9750 will be retired until the 10th of March.

Okay, first of all sorry about the double thread thingy. Our dsl went out, and I didn't think it posted, so I made a new one without checking :X sorry

Also sorry about not posting replies for 23 hours, our dsl came back on just an hour ago because the power went out too

anyway, If that is the case about the m9750 going out, and a lot of people have been saying that the m15x is so much better, I might stick with that :)

Can someone delete that other thread? It is really just taking up space and is unnecessary now...

    thanks

My dsl got disconnected, and i reconnected, but then the power went out later
