What program can i use to make my own bootable system rocovery dvd?I have all games installed and everything set up on m17.I will be putting new hard drive in soon and want to be able to reinstall exact image of hard drive as it is now. Also i may go with raid, will that work with this method?or would i have to do an image off an existing raid for this to work?I tried acronis ,but all that did is a backup its on about 10 dvds.I would like to put it on one disc like alienware does,or usb flash.

    thanks

I use AcronisTrueImage (but make 1 file and just keep it on the external, you can choose that in the options). If you installed games as you said, then the file is going to be rather big and wont be able to fit in one dvd. Even Vista's installation alone takes more than that :p

I used acronis true image home 2009. So then it is bootable? When I get new hard drive I just boot from DVDs I burned? I don't need to reinstall windows first?

You can make a bootable disk using Acronis, so basically you can load Acronis with the cd and select the file you already created in your external (since it will be probably too big to fit on a dvd). Takes 10~ mins depending on how big its the actually image. Then you just restart and you are good to go :)

I think the acronis backup isn't bootable ... it could be possible to make a boot disk for acronis and let it use the image from the externaml hdd ;)

But this is just a guess^^

    Greetings
    Julian

Yes I figured it out u have to make a bootable disc then install the image you make on hard drive.it's actually a pretty cool program and easy to use.
