    anyone know how to fix/replace a broken ethernet on m17

    cord got pulled from my m17 and dont want to ship out to fix if I can do this!!!!!

    if the port itself is broken, they might have to replace the mobo, which is definitely a factory job. if the casing is broken, they might have to replace the chassis, which is definitely a factory job.

    well, if he just broke some of the pins that connect the socket to the mobo, I suppose he could butcher his laptop (and warranty) trying to self-solder them back into place...

    Send it off and hope you get it back before next year.
    If any part of the actual port is dead it's not fixable without murdering your warranty.
