The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.
I think the 2 systems are actually very different from another to the point where they really shouldn't be compared. And yes I own both systems or have owned. Let it be known that I personally feel that the M15x is a poormans m17x, it has nearly the same size/form factor of the m17x just less power and less cooling. The Area 51 m15x although it has it's hinge problems has a MUCH BETTER battery life especially with the Optical Bay Battery Pack we're talking several horus where the M15x won't even hold a candle to that, of course one has an i7 chip while the other has a core 2 duo, but the portability of the area-51 m15x is Far superior to the point where I still have mine even though I have the new generation laptops. So if you're just trying to get a decent priced gaming laptop go with the M15x but if you want portability and battery life while some gaming on the side go with the area-51.
