    what type of connection is the CD drive? i want a bluray player for it. it's not sata is it? i don't have the laptop yet so i can't open it and check. i have a IDE bluray laptop 12.7mm cd drive sitting in the closet. i'm wondering if that would fit.

    I'd expect it's SATA since most everything is. My notebook's SATA and it's about a year older.

    Also there's not a 100% guarantee something like thta is going to fit. Personally I'd get Blu Ray installed if possible, though on my current laptop I'm using an external USB drive for Blu Ray.

    You're presumably talking about the old m15x I presume. Are you buying it used? A word of warning now, the hinges will almost certainly break at some point.

    I THINK it's a SATA drive.

    Are the hinges bad on the NEW m15x? It seems almost totally new despite the same name (I guess?)

    yes the m15x is used, for about 2 months. i know about the weak hinges. is it sata? seeing that the laptop was released 2 years ago. the laptop will not be moved, or closed very often. closed maybe once a week.
