Hey guys just to let you know i have exchanged my m15x for a desktop, the order has been placed and alienware has been most kind...im typing this on my asus eee pc (i have been without a laptop for weeks now so i could not post here)

@shakeandbakenyc- i say go for it and get the desktop... the m17x starts at 3800+ tax for an acceptable configuration and still no 9800... i think, i have not checked the site. The m9750 was tempting but overpriced.... im pretty dissapointed about that last price change with the m17x, i would have probally purchased it otherwise...i love laptops but i guess desktops are cool too :(. i only hope its not loud...anyway here is my config in replace of the m15x:

shipping and tax are a killer. i would have loved to get extra features like another hdd, liquid cooling, and a blu ray drive but i did not want to add money... I SHOULD have the desktop by october. Honestly i would have never bought a desktop if it was not for the credit. Im really dissapointed with alienwares new laptops. The m9750 would have been great with alien fx and new cpu technogly/smartbay! why change a good thing?I will post a youtube review here and maybe a written review if thats aloud on this board.

The desktop is not a bad choice either. It's way more powerful than your m15x.

IF you can get by with a desktop its always a better choice-more performance and usually less money. Bigger screen to. And I love the P2 Chassis very cool. I however don't have much room for desktops and I love my mobility. Glad they took care of you

Good system, but I think your CPU is going to be a slight bottleneck.
