I would like to buy the M11x, mainly for HD video watching and Photo editing and some old games.
What is the most powerful config?
    ram : 4,6, 8 gb ?
    Hard drive : SSD?

    Thanks for your help.

    4 gig ram,
at least 7,200 rpm harddrive, or if you have the money buy a compatible ssd off newegg and install yourself,
and su4300 cpu as the 7300 only has an extra 1mb cache and virtualization technology(useful if you run other operating system under windows 7)

You don't need most powerful config for just wactch HD video and old games. It's all depend on your budget. 4G ram, 7200RPM HD and maybe a SU7300 should do the tricks.

Agreed, even my current desktop with 4yr old specs (and 2gb ram) plays old school games and HD video just fine. The M11x with standard specs should easily suffice. Now go on and grab one! ;)

Considering there's some 500GB 7200rpm drives floating around on Newegg for well under $100, I'd wouldn't recommend doing a HDD upgrade from Dell. 4GB Ram is the only factory option you need, imho. SSD is nice too, but go for it if you have the cash to do so, it really isn't necessary for what you want to do.

And unless you need VT, don't bother with the SU7300 if you are strapped for cash.

Yeah it's not only on NewEgg, there are some on Amazon as well.
