I agree with Moo here, go to dell so you and pick their great waranty options, just make sure you cantact them online, if you phone them you are put on hold for half an hour and then they 'accidently' hang up on you xD

Actually, when you do your initial research and pin down your configuration you want, print it out. Once you have it in hand, call Dell Sales and speak with a rep. Let them know you want to order the system and have a configuration in mind and would like a Sales Quote. Run through it and see what kind of price they can come up with. Once at a price, ask them if they can drop the price if you order today. See what they can come up with. The phone reps are able to deal and make adjustments.

Once you have a 'lowest' price from the rep, ask them to save the quote and email it to you. Wait a few days and call back. Inform the sales rep you have a quote in the system and ask them to pull it up. Once they have it, ask them to beat it either by dropping the price or upgrading options at no cost. Some components have more room to haggle.

Its worth a shot. I have saved quite a bit of money going this route in addition to ordering via my employer's EPP program.

if your planning on getting a extended warranty, than you can haggle the preice of the warranty down but i think thats pretty much it.

guys, i talked with 2 different rep and both of them told me the same thing : we can't give you a discount or free upgrades cause the system won't allow us. is that true or are they just trying to get rid of me?

Go through Dell's EDP Department. Not Alienware or regular Dell. I started off talking to somebody called Team Blackhawk and they were somewhat responsive until the guy lied to me and told me I couldn't get the 10% and the $99.00 mini together. I called EDP and had no trouble getting the deal I wanted.
