ok - just curious who got what since 01 Jan 2008...(you can choose more then one for those that may have gotten two units or more)
also, name 1 reason you decided on your specific unit, and 1 thing (if given the oppotunity) to upgrade...
enjoy.
(this is just for fun, and i prefer to keep it to topic. i.e. no AW bashing or "i used to own xxx but...)
*no carbon emmissions were harmed in the making of this thread/poll.

m15x for me... packs a punch, but is still reasonably portable.
-
good call whizzo.
SB and the options associated was the biggie for me. -
uh huh. how's the SSD you've got in yours, ryu? i'm considering upgrading, but only if the performance gain reflects the costs...
-
i luv it. fast from what i can tell and zero noise from the unit...
i have had no issues with the SSD at all.
i have not done tests cause i am not sure what it would show or not...just from use and feel though, i'd say "go 4 it" -
i put m15x but it was returned for a refund after 19 days.
can you still add an option to see how many were returned.that would be interesting to see. -
m17 skullcap right here..picked it over a Nagamaki for the matte black finish.
first upgrade that comes to mind would be getting a qx9300, or the hd4870's when they come out
word.

-
Skullcap > All.
I also hear that the Skullcap is 4.7% faster in performance than Ripley. -
cuz 5% is the cool factor and 95%power
-
M17 skull- most powerful AW laptop at the time and for a reasonable forseeable future, and it was actually "cheap"
-
And the skullcap is more aerdoynamic to produce more downforce, meaning when you teach it to fly, it will hit the floor at a higher G.
-
uh... technically, the ripley design is more aerodynamic than skullcap.
-
-
No, the chassis has lots of ridges to redirect the wind, meaning it will produce more downforce. Whereas the ripley will allow air to pass through it quicker, making it more "nimble"
-
urm...more ridges means more friction.
-
quite so. in terms of aerodynamics, you want as little drag (which is basically air friction) as possible, so the ripley design is more aerodynamic.
-
i highly doubt one needs aerodynamics in space. nothing to cause friction (for the most part - aside from gaseous areas, but even then there is no friction to be had)
-
why "in space"?
at any rate, yeah you don't need aerodynamics in space, but you do need them to get to space - there's a reason why all rockets are long and pointy (and it's not so that they're all gigantic phallus symbols that represent their countries' power).
-
i got the m17 skull...the m15x is the best looking laptop ever though in my opinion
-
-
hehe they've been doing that for ages...
-
im keeping my laptop on earth
-
m15x skullcap for me.
Best laptop I have ever owned. Power + Portability (6 hrs battery life :O) + Coolness = Unlike anything else -
m15x ripley for me.
I want to upgrade RAM and graphics to the 9800 but it'll have to wait at least a few months. -
M17 skullcap. Wanted to replace my desktop with a more portable decision, a laptop with big guns. Great for audio/video stuff and still can handle most games with ease. And the black matte finish is just d*mn nice.
-
i thought there were more m17x owners then this....
-
i guess a lot of would-be m17x buyers got the m17 instead.
-
cuz were awsomer and cheaper cant argue with that
-
-
play nice whizzo.....
-
Had m15x ripley since last July, still loving it
-
mine since Sept. and luvin it....
too bad i cant add an m17x ripley for OddleBear....
bill of sale....
