2 temps with the cooler and what kind--- CPU gpu hd and system

Also the tempature in your room if u can :D

Thanks for all the help, I want to try to help people make the right choice and create less threads.!

well i am just testing my homemade cooler i need to place the fans better ....i have the bottom off as well. I am just going to see what i can do :D the vents on the bottom is what limits the amount the notbook coolers can do .....some one need to take off the panels and drill holes and put mesh over them. that would help so much but ....yea the vents in the panel now are just to small, but they focus the air for the fans but if you have a cooler its harder to force more air in ....

sorry for my rambleing, if it made sense good

I'm going to see where the most heat comes out of mines so i can drill holes there.

i'm done screwing around....dondad if you do that i would rill holes right on top the gpu and where they meet comeing out... i found place ments of fans were 120 mm right where the gpu's were and 1 nice POWERFUL 160mm fan in the middle is the best way. Each gpu get its own love and the large central fan blows away the heat and cool the system. I took off the back and dropped 10 c right there ......

any way back on topic can i please get some temps with peoples coolers??????

Don't have exact temp of room, probably over 80F.
It has been on all day, idle temps using NC2000 that needs the dust cleaned out:
    tz00: 45C
    core #0: 37C
    core #1: 34C
    GPU: 48C
    GPU: 46C
    HDD: 40C

I'll get you some numbers tomorrow. One of my GPUs hit 90°C playing GRID with my Xbrand cooler, so it will no doubt be pretty scary without it.

    that's BS :)

that's not true either - the fans are at the back, but the cooler's vents are up front. however, the cool air spreads all around the laptop, so it cools everything. trust me, i know.

whizzo i do agree the laptop cooler are good for giving space for air to get in but the fans cant force much air into the laptop the m17 vents are at such a great angle its hard to force air up....i know to i made my own cooler with my own placement of fans to focus on the parts that needed it

I have the Zalman NC1000.. But I have to say its one of the worst Zalman products I have ever had. The fans rattle and are noisy. Yes it does cool the laptop but I would have expected a little better from Zalman.

well it wont cool the laptop because the fans are cooling the hdd. unless you move the notebook down you wont see any difference in temps.

I know.. I bought it for my old laptop. But still its a really bad buildquality I would have expected beter from Zalman.

If you did some research you would find out that the only good thing about nzxt is the looks.

    It cools like a pos.

Yep unfortunatly i bought it before doing some more research. The little bit i googled on it said it "cools really good" but to be honest its just a big clunky USB hub that makes lots of noize and does bad at cooling :(.

Oh well....i guess its nice to show off with :D

those temps are with my custom made cooler and the bottom off.....i made each fan right over the major parts one 120mm over the cpu and 2 160's over the gpu's. So the temps are not freakin BS they are my creativity since i didnt want to get a standard cooler. the other temps is outside it was 40 degrees i was just farting around seeing how low i can get it

i ddint want to spend 70 dollars on something that i could build.

no cooling of the hard drive is kinda hard since it is in a cage screwed in :D

the "baby" is not picture ready ....i blew a fan and broke the board :( i was walking in the dark and yea..... i will have it back by next week

i just got a peice of plywood and got 8 1 inch cubes and put the cubes in each corner on top and bottom so the bloard is raised a inch and the laptop is raised a inch off the cooler then the fans on there... simple and broken right now ....

well, not directly cooling the HDD of course. just blowing cool air at the chassis underneath the HDD(s). i noticed a drop of 10°C when comparing HDD temps with and without the Zalman NC2000... from 50°C to a mere 40°C, even under heavy load. idle/light use temp is usually 30-33°C.

i think the hard drive placement here made it only drop 5 c i put all the fands at the back so not much air made it to the side for the hard drives. but i guess a 5 c drop with out directly blowing on it was a bit .......i honestly thought i only dropped it 2 c

like you said today "i'm sorry but i had to "
