my m17x has a core 2 duo and im pretty its upgradeable to a quad extreme am i correct? would i be getting any significant performance enchancements from this upgrade? would it be worth the labor and money?
    right now my core 2 is a T9600 @ 2.8GHZ but overclocked @ 3.2GHZ
its not an extreme edition either.

this isnt really an aswer hahah but if you want to overclock it you first go into the bios (of course) then press right to enter the ADVANCED tab then go down to overclocking settings. itll say something like cpu link status. press enter on it and make it unlinked. then change the fsb by increments of 33mhz. at least for me it wasnt stable when i increased it by other increments. hope this helps. if i explained it bad just tell me

I assume you can upgrade the cpu, but unless you get a really(REALLY) good deal, i wouldnt bother. It is going to be old in a few years, as they have released the i7 920XM, which is alot better. Either wait a while for the price to drop on that processor, or stick with what you have for now and save upp for something even newer than the i7, with better graphic cards. This is just my own opinion.
