    Hey guys whats up,

Just wanted to ask questions about the extreme edition coreI7.

Now as you can see in my sig I have the 920XM, is it true that Alienware overclocks it before you purchase the laptop?

also can 920XM run at 4.00GHZ or 940XM which ever.

Just want to know the maximum GHZ these two processors can be overclocked to.

    Thanks.

Yeah you can overclock the 940XM up to 4.00Ghz, I don't think Dell overclocks it before they ship the laptops, but I could be wrong I dont have a 92/4/0XM... yet :D

I found this thread, that could help you out if you want to get the best out of your computer!
Make sure you have a cooler pad or something to keep your laptop running chill!

It can hit 4GHz, but it's not going to be stable at that clock. Dell won't OC before shipping, but you will have a choice of 1%-5% OC in the bios with the M17x.

While that may be true for Alienware desktops, it's defianetly not true for notebooks. Dell doesn't warranty the ability to overclock. Niether the M11x, 15x, or 17x are guaranteed to be overclockable, just stable at stock speeds. And they definately don't mess with the GPU. However everything you need to know to OC the CPU/GPU can be found here ;)
