Dell has offered me change my r1 to r2
but I have so many doubts
is the highest-end
please help
ati is better 4870 than nvidia 280?
i7 920 vs. QX9300?
screen?
but more importantly the graphics
Or maybe keep waiting for a magic solution for r1

Heck yes take it!!! i7 920 is a lot better then the QX9300

ATI 4870 is much better then the 280's. Tell them to throw in the RGB screen to. Trust me you won't be sorry. The R2 has ZERO latency issues, therefore no audio poping or cracking. On the R2the screen flickering has been solved by the release of the A02 BIOS. I sould take the trade to R2 as soon as possbile before they change thier minds. You are actually getting a nice upgrade. The R2 is just about a perfect system.

 

No doubt! Yes, get the RGB screen with it and you are all set! Don't pass up that deal!

Lets just put it this way. The power of the R1 on max CPU/GPU overclock scores approximately 18,500K 3DMark06 and the max CPU/GPU overclock of the R2 is around 21,900K 3DMark06. Thats according to the top scores in the M17X Benchmarking thread. That should put it into some perspective for you.

 

i am getting 14775 max score on my r2... i don't know how the others are doing it. Surly 920 can't make 6000 worth of difference!

 

Yup, 920 can, because it's unlocked. Can play with voltages and a lot of other neat stuff

It sounds like you are saying that the RGB is not offered in Spain; if it were me I would do whatever I could to figure out how to order it. Our British cousins can get it, I am surprised you can't yet. I can't speak from direct experience but with the games I play the ATi's do very well and frankly look better than the Nvidia's if you tweak out the graphics settings.

Yea, the ATI cards realy are better then the nvidia cards so it's safe to go that route. If you can't get RGB, it's not the end of the world, althought it would be nnice to have. The fact that your at least getting the R2 is a step up.

It's an error on dells part. They made the same mistake in the U.S. but it has since been fixed. Although it did take a while. Probably was changed after they had complaints.
