the X32 BIOS has been officially released. I guess this makes the X32RC1 obsolete. heh. I saw it in MyHive. I had not previously seen the RC1 bios available in myhive, but now the X32 BIOS is there. cool I guess.

anyone tried it? does it change anything or fix issues?? maybe a long awaited fix for the x9000? or perhaps a slightly tweaked bios to help fix the hibernation problems some have been having?

I havn't installed it myself, I'm just curious if anyone else has :)

I did not see any particular update news on it... just instructions on installing... as per-usual, but I wasn't looking closely, I'll go take another looksee.

    Edit:

    * Webcam initialization on Youcam launch "

It's probably just the "official" version of the X32RC1. anyone with RC1 already probably won't see any differences, though, I'd recommend to everyone to do the update if it hasn't already been applied to your systems. It does help.

i'd say, if you have RC1, it's probably not worth the update to go to the final... though those with the x9000 could try and see if it fixes their downclocking problems... I don't think it will but who knows?

they probably won't give it to us europeans for a while... i got my x32 RC1 BIOS from here (thx to whoever posted the DL link) before it was available in europe. but seeing how x32 isn't much of an improvement over x32 RC1, i don't think i'll bother.

No offense, but I've seen CD-RWs mess up, I wouldn't trust this update to a well-used RW...

Cant DVDs be used for the update? Is there a lot of difference between the x30 and x32 BIOS? I have the x30 and its been working fine for me so far. Does the x32 version lower idle and load temps and increase the life of the card?

Perhaps... the main reason for the upgrade was for downclocking. Try using furmark (or some simmilar stress-testing application for your GPU), and monitoring your GPU's clocks with something like RivaTuner, for 20 or 30 mins (more if you can).

look for the clocks changing at any point during the test, if they do, you have downclocking, and the X32 should fix it.

if you don't get downclocking, I don't see much of a point to doing it, though, you can... but I can't guarantee the results.
