Hi,
I called and asked dell, and they couldn't tell me if displayport and eyefinity worked with the new graphics cards from ATI (5850/5870) on the m15x or m17x. Anyone used one or can clarify for me?
Thanks!
Mark
PS. I'm actually thinking about getting the m17x, price is just slightly higher than the m15x when configured similarly. btw - any good coupon codes/secret deals?

It should work fine through display port, the only thing is you'll need a powered display port adapter, so one end goes into the display port, and another into the USB port. The cable itself normally goes for around $100. I had to pick one up for my computer to get eyefinity to work.

Hmmm, not the definitive answer I'm going to lay out 2k for
I'm planning on buying 2 monitors with displayports on them and then having connecting them in a chain, so I won't need to use another cable.

ok, talked with Dell (again) and this guy says that eyefinity DOES work, and there is a displayport that you can use to daisy chain monitors...
/me going to configure my new system -
Just make sure all the monitors are the same resolution, otherwise eyefinity won't work

ok, good to know, thanks!

YouTube - HP Envy 17 and HP Envy 14 (Skip halfway), If it works on an HP and not the M17x, that would be so embarrassing.
displayport/eyefinity working with 58xx cards?
