When it asks for the driver take out the Windows DVD and insert the Drivers disc that you got with your system.
You should be able to search the dvd to load the nvidia RAID driver. -

its not in there at all i checked and when it ask's for it it dosent like to eject
-
Hmmm.
Not sure what you can do about that. I think clauss had the same problem and couldn't get the disc out (his windows install went bad or something). He ended up getting it out by rebooting and spamming the touch control.
Maybe you could put the driver on a USB stick?
I like touch-sensitive controls but this is one reason why they still need a hard button just in case. -
He actually used a Linux boot compilation for usb i believe and while in the os you can give it a command to eject..
I would have to go back and reread the thread.. -

where do i get the drivers for it

i had a similar problem when my os was corrupted. i just tried to boot to safe mode and while it was loading the drivers i spammed eject and it came out. not sure if it will help you though

thank you but...this is a brand new raid 0 and i am trying to install the os...and it wont let me .....
-
can you get into bios?
maybe disable raid for now and see if you can go from there.
is raid enabled in bios?
i dont have raid myself so i am not certain as to the order of steps you must take, but i am sure the bios plays a part no? -

yes i can do it and it will work that way the wth i want it to be in raid
-
ok - so load single HDD, DL the needed drivers from wherever, and install them, go to bios and enable raid.
PS: you may want to post more about you system specs as this may help others with resolving your issue. -
Can't do it that way, ryujin.
While he can dl the driver that way he will still need to reformat/install os once he sets the RAID array.
So he could get the drivers and install them but it won't do any good because he will need to reinstall once the array is set.
The driver has to be on the disc. Dell has always setup there drivers discs that way. Try everything you can to eject the disc (maybe spamming the button while clicking the drive letter, etc). -

benthedogtrainer,
Almost everyone who's dealt with RAID at some point or another has ran into this crazy catch-22.
Here's how to get the driver you need.... (You'll need to do this from either another machine or a working operating system)
Download the latest chipset driver from the Dell website and extract it's contents to a folder. You'll have several folders... one of which is an IDE folder.
The storage tree in the extracted nForce installation package should look like this:
...\IDE\WinVista64\raidtool
...\IDE\WinVista64\sata_ide
...\IDE\WinVista64\sataraid
The SATARAID folder contains the WHQL signed SATA RAID driver you need.
Copy all the files from it onto a thumb (aka. Flash) drive. (Tip: Make sure the thumb drive you use was NEVER made bootable... else Vista's installer will get the crazy idea to try and install Vista to it instead of the array.)
During installation insert the thumb drive and press the 'load driver' button when prompted by OS installer.
When OS reads it, it will show the following:
NVIDIA nForce RAID Controller
NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller
Both of these MUST be installed if RAID is enabled.
Then you should be able to complete the Vista installation.
