    seeems temperature sensor is not working because it always says 75 degrees.

    how do i fix this

    You can try a AlienwareRespawn and see if this helps. Or a clean reinstallation of the OS and drivers. If that doesn't work, then it's probably the motherboard sensors.

    I have the 766 area 51-m. still runs decent but noise of recent has got worst.

    ill open it up and give it a cleaning with compressed air.

    wonder if the term laptop is used rarely now a days incase someone sues them for having toasted balls. lol :D

    could be plausible. notebook now is the convention.

    guessing by the specs You have a p4 Desktop cpu. My Pro Star Laptop has the same chip and they seem to run warm. For there only two settings for the laptop. One where it would be 2.8ghz and one 3.4ghz.

    There not like the Core 2 laptop chips where they can downclock really low.

    What would be a good idea is Pull the battery out unplug and open up the laptop and clean the Fans, vents.
