    noob :p

but seriously, good buy. I'm rooting for no problems either. AW systems have had too many problems lately, and it's been taking far too long to resolve the problems. ugh.

But yeah, happy happy. welcome to NBR!

RAM and HDD's are cheaper off of Newegg, etc., that was my reasoning.

No, RAID0 is awesome. Load and install times are nearly cut in half. It won't do anything for you as far as gaming performance though. I highly recommend it. :)

    it'll decrease load times :p

    seriously. it will. :|

i had a Raid 0 configuration in an old system, I wasn't all that impressed... but at that time my mounting configuration was pretty elaborate...

    First HDD - C:
    Raid 0 - C:\Program Files\
    Second HDD - D:

... yeah, that was fun to setup.

The price is one of the reason I don't buy hard drive from AW.
raid 0 would just increase the chance of file access failure by double, which is crucial for me since I do my work in the m17 as well.

Even though I have 2 hd in m17, I wouldn't run raid in a laptop. Unless the laptop can fit 3 harddrives, then I would put my important files in the non-raid one.

Raid is overrated in my opinion (really doesn't give good performance gains). In addition your data is more susceptible to corruption because if one hard drive fails all of your data is gone. I prefer having either Raid 1 or just having two separate drives (C and D in my case).

Note that the option for RAID 0 or 1 still exists in the M17 even if you don't opt for it at the time of ordering. Buy a second hard drive for dirt cheap at Newegg or similar, drop it in (it's said you'll need extra screws) and enable RAID in BIOS and you're set.
