Yeah Vista is really bad, I installed windows 7, and then after having touchbutton problems (Stuck in Stealth Mode) combined with video driver issues I went back to Vista, and then gave up and sent the PC back to alienware for a motherboard replacement (Covered on warranty) and then they gave me back the PC with windows 7 installed, this they feel that windows 7 is better to use on these systems as well. :D Although I can't shut off my touchpad anymore which does kind of bother me.

it login's ok, but after 5 min it just freezes and can't do anything. My Alienware was working very well with vista and im not going to buy another serial key for windows 7. I think it might be the drivers i did not install correctly but don't know. is there a specific way? I was going back and reading the m15x manual and it says to boot cd from the bios I just hit f12 and reinstalled windows. I dont know if that would have an effect but thats what I did. any help would be very appreciated

This thread helped me get Windows 7 running on my wife's m15x. That includes a patch to get the touchscreen function key to work.
