dell is giving me my money back instead of replacing my 1730 (which was a replacement of a 1710). but now looking around i'm leaning towards the alienware, mostly because i feel dell support is better then the rest. but now what....

i'm really stuck on the video card. i'm willing to pay if i'm getting my money's worth. i've been having a lot of issues with the nvidia cards in the 1710/1730 models and feel gun shy with getting it on the m17x but the ati cross fire is very expensive. i mainly play bf2 (yes old game) and want the ability to play newer games when they come out. single or sli? anyone know of any coupons or codes to get any discounts?

    aloha

Ok you can do this you call. opt for a Single Ati 4870 and upgrade the gpu in a few months. When you order your system best to talk to someone while ordering it. I dont know about ATI becuse like you I have Dual 8800 or rebranded geforce 9800.

There aren't any known issues with the newer nVidia cards.

Definetely go for SLi or CrossFire. The machine is a waste if you only have one card in it; you might as well go for an M15x. From a single 260M to dual, you get average 50% or better performance in most games, up to 90% in those coded well for SLi. Same for CrossFire.
