    A friend of mine offered me his m5550 plus something roughly around $300 in exchange of my m9700.

    Brief Specs:
    m9700
    Turion 64 ml-40 2.2ghz
    17" wuxga
    2gb ram
    200gb RAID hdd
    512mb 7900gs sli

    m5550
    c2d T7600 2.33ghz
    15" wxga
    1gb ram
    80gb hdd
    256mb 7600

    *hope you guys could help me out. btw, my m9700 is in mint physical condition.. while the m5550 is in a relatively poorer condition compared to mine
    *option of upgrading the m5550 is considered

    i would say no. on your m9700 you can play most games at full detail with the m5550 ur be lucky to get medim/ low settings
    is $300 worth aving a laptop you prob wont like and was a mid range laptop 2/3 yr ago

    I know it's tempting to get something new. But, I have three reasons why you should keep yours.

    1. You have SLi.
    2. Even if you upgrade the m5550, it would still be worse off gaming than your m9700.
    3. The CPU on the m5550 is better, but do you really need that duo core 2? no.

    decided to get an m15x instead... as i was able to ask my parents to finance me :D
