    hi,

i would like to know if changing RAM components in a m15x notebook alienware is easy (without screw?)

Can anyone post a photo here to show me the under-cover open of this notebook ?

Is it easy too, to change the CPU ?

The M15X has a large panel underneath, which when removed, should allow access to the RAM modules. From there on, changing the modules should be the same as any other notebook. The module can be removed by undoing the clips on the sides. Once undone, the module will snap up, and you can then pull it out of the slot.

I cant find any pictures of the M15x base.

Can you take a picture of the base of your laptop, and post it here.
Then we can show you which panel the memory is under.
It is most likely under one of the panels.
If you know what laptop memory looks like, continue to open the panels until you find the right one with the memory under it.

It will be like this, @Zero is right, just get rid of the screws for that large bottom compartment and you should have access to the CPU and RAM (though there maybe some hidden screws as well :p)

IF your going to change the cpu. Best idea is contact Alienware tell them you want to upgrade the cpu and buy the Cpu from Alienware and send in your laptop to Alienware so they can Install it. So it will not void your Warrintee.

If you read the "Notebook Care & Maintenance Guide" (link is at the bottom of my sig, i have listed the parts and "how to's" for the m15x and the m17x, i'm sure it wil lbe there.

I'm also in agreement with the other guys, if you change your processor your waranty will be void... Might be worth a phone call to Alienware to see if they mind you upgrading. They let you change HDD & RAM so...

slightly offtopic, but to get your notebook like that, you just took the panels off and thats it?
Looks like theres no heatsink on the CPU ;)

I agree with the other posters, changing the CPU yourself will void the warranty on your system.

They do let you change the hard drives and memory though, but you need to call them first so they are aware of the change.

As stated before it is advised to contact Alienware Support regarding upgrades to your system to avoid damage to your system and to avoid voiding your warranty.

it is very easy to get to the parts. the entire bottom is covered by only 1 big play which is very convient imo. there are around 10 screws holding the plate to the case. it takes maybe 30 sec to get the plate off the m15x. the screws are pretty small.

i would say its easier than the hp since its only 1 plate to get to all the parts.

yep. RAM's right in the middle, HDD is in the silver cage up top, and the CPU is under the bottom-left fan. piece of cake.
