hello everyone, i just went to nvida website and i looked to see if there was a driver update for me to do. i never done one on this computer but i have done one a long time ago, and it messed some stuff up so i want to make sure im installing the right driver for my system.

i have an m17x running on windows vista with these listed video cards:
    nvida GeForce 9400M G
    nvida GeForce GTX 260M
    nvida GeForce GTX 260M

when im looking in my device manager, and properties in the video cards, it says the driver date is 4/23/2009 and the driver version is 7.15.11.7985

now i went to nvida website and i seen an update but i want to clarify that this is the right one . HERE IS THE PAGE CLICK HERE

on the website it says this new driver was released on 3/29/2010 and its version 197.16

is that the right driver i want to install? thanks for all your help guys, you really are a big help.

According to Dell the most current driver that they have tested is 186.40, they do also recommend the 196.86 driver and that it addresses the DPC latency issue.

The 197.16 driver does not address this (latency) issue. I was running the 179.85 driver until I purchased Star Trek Online and needed to upgrade the driver for it to work with my system. Then I went to Dell's driver site and was recommended to use 186.64. It works well but I have had a few issues and I am thinking about upgrading again. Not sure yet which one I will chose, though I have a friend who says he will help me this weekend. he owns his own computer business :).
