    Get the i5 system because it will hold it's value better and you will have a better upgrade path later if need be. Don't bother with C2D.

    keep in mind the i5 costs 100 more and you cannot get the nvidia cards with it, some may consider that good but idk. food for thought.

    for 2000 i can only can get core 2 duo with dual 260's, for 2100 i can get a i5 with 4870's.....

    Option 2 is better, sorry this message took so long to type but my C2D dual 260's M17x froze for 3 minutes while typing this message...............

    GO with the i5 and 4870's trust me
