I have a alienware notebook with drivers 167.46 beta, and I dont have the powermizer option enabled on the control panel!
I had the laptop video 2 go driver version 174.16 and powermizer wasnt there either.

How do i get it back?

I want it becouse my video card temp is at 82c according to GPU-Z while on windows desktop.

I have installed NHC and it has option to switch powermizer to cool down the GPU, but i dont have it enabled, its greyed out.

in vista you dont get a power mizer option in the nvidia control panel. you only get the power mizer option in xp.

Really now ? :) I beg to differ, Powermizer IS supported and works in Vista, but you can`t adjust it.

The video card should not run that hot when running desktop apps. My 7950gtx idles around 60C and only runs significantly hotter than that when I am running games. I am using Vista and I don't have power mizer.

yea thats basically what i was trying to say. powermizer is built into vista, so thats why you cant turn power mizer off using the nvidia control panel. you can turn off powermizer in the xp with nvidia control panel.

    Right, that`s true.
Anyway, his GTX should get nowere near 82C by doing nothing graphically intensive...

    I idle at 79°C with my m9750/dual 7950 GTX(FW 174.16)/2.3GHz/Vista 32, even with a LapCool 3 under it.
I find that odd, too; When playing CoD4 all max (1280x800), my PC randomly shuts down. I take it that's a heat problem.

On a side note, what are the various temperatures? Riva Tuner indicates three:
    Core: 78.73°C
    Core 0: 78.00°C
    Core 1: 87.00°C

    And I just got a 4600 on 3dmark06.
...gentlemen, there's something wrong with my box.

    Hello All

My 9750 with SLI 7950GTX has recently been idling at approx 75c. These cards are supposed to idle at approx 59-63c and no higher really when not under load or just idling. I have had both gpu's changed and both sets of heat sinks twice. BIOS updated. Have tried with Arctic Silver and still no joy. Ultimate outcome is the laptop has to go back to AW for repair as they are going to change the motherboard. Was on phone with tech support for over an hour trying to rectify the issue to no joy but to be fair they were amazingly helpful. So if you have tried all the above fixes Im sorry to say that you need to send it back for repair.

The second graphics card will idle 10-12 C hotter than the parent card because it shares the same fan and heat pipe as the CPU. My daughter card idles at
    71C- parent card at 59-60C.
